Day STILL 141 – Mile somewhere-after-the-NOC: So after a day full of thunderstorms (which I waited out in the comfort of a blow-up chair in the NOC outfitter), a coin shower, coin laundry, some food (with Tripod, Kansas and John) and fully interrogating the SOLO Southeast Wilderness Medicine peeps and kayaking school peeps with questions, I headed out on the trail again at 6pm. Turned out to be a beautiful evening!
Funny moment this morning when we were sleeping under the stars on the firetower on Wesser Bald – checked the weather at 5am and the storms were set to arrive sooner than expected at 7am. Packed all my stuff up really quietly, put my headlamp on and before peacing out, announced my departure by waking up the other 7 snoring bodies “Hey guys! Morning! Just so you know there is lightning in the distance! Laterrrr”.
